I am loving the Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) training course I’m attending. It is hard work and I’m seeing the benefits with a number of people I’m supporting already.
What’s great about it is that it focuses on a positive future; as opposed to any current negativity or problems from your past (or indeed assumed future). SFH focuses on what you want to achieve (your goals) in the present and future.
With detailed questioning (which we call the ‘Miracle Question’) we help you bring to life your positive present and future. Then through hypnosis we encourage that shift in perspective, using your ‘image’ of the present and future.
SFH uses modern and well researched strategies that help you make positive changes in your life in a relatively short period of time. SFH combines a number of techniques; such as NLP and CBT. It fits well with the techniques that I currently use in my practice; they all complement each other and ensure that I continue with my ethos of ‘one size does not fit all’. It is important for me to be able to assure you that if one tool doesn’t suit you then there are loads more in my ‘tool box’. I have the techniques, you just need to bring along the need for change; you have to be in it with purpose.
Hypnosis is used for a huge variety of things. I currently focus on anxiety (stress, panic attacks), anger, depression, fear and phobias.
Another positive for using hypnotherapy is that you see the results quickly; as opposed to more conventional forms of therapy. You get out of it as much as you are willing to put in.
